Place Study: The Schesser House
I was drawn to photographing the last days of an old home on Samish Island, Washington. The Schesser House, unoccupied since 1959, will soon be replaced by a new home. More than the house itself, I was struck by the personal items left behind. These were lingering signs of the family life it held. Photographing these belongings isolated within the rooms of the house was a bit like getting a glimpse of a diary entry; creating more curiosity than it satisfied.
